Shot Light, iF Product Design Award 2017

Shot Light, winner of the iF Design Award 2017

Jokerlight was a winner of this year’s IF Design Award, a world-renowned design prize. The winning product, Shot Light, obtained the award in the product design modality, within the lighting category. Each year, Germany’s oldest independent design organization, Hannover-based iF International Forum Design GmbH, organizes the IF Design Award.

Shot Light, designed by Jokerlight’s head of design Rubén Saldaña, won over the 58-member jury, made up of independent experts from all over the world, with its outstanding design and performance. The competition was intense: over 5,500 entries were submitted from 59 countries in hopes of receiving the seal of quality.

About the IF Design Award

The iF label is renowned worldwide for outstanding design services, and the IF Design Award is one of the most important design prizes in the world. Submissions are awarded in the following disciplines: Product, Packaging, Communication and Service Design, Architecture and Interior Architecture as well as Professional Concepts. All awarded entries are featured on the IF World Design Guide, in the IF Design App and are displayed at the IF Design Exhibition Hamburg.

About Shot Light

Shot Light is a luminary conceived to be a small, discreet point of light in the ceiling that hides the illumination source from sight and aims to offer maximum visual comfort. In order to achieve this, it has an anti-glare screen and a specifically designed micro-reflector that generates a perfectly defined light beam.

In this way, Shot Light very distinctly concentrates the light on one point, in which it achieves high degrees of luminance, similar to more powerful downlights. This feature allows it to be applied, separately, for accent lighting in specific areas, or grouped together as general lighting in projects where the priority is hiding the light source.
