ZEN Obtains Bronze A’Design Award

A’ Award and Competitions are happy to share that the work Zen by Jokerlight Design Team: Rubén Saldaña Acle (Head of Design), Jerónimo Miralles (Designer) and Toni Bojo (Designer), became winner of the prestigious Bronze A’Design Award at Lighting Products and Lighting Projects Design Competition highlighted as the winner by the esteemed referees of the A’ Design Awards & Competitions within numerous submissions.

The Product

Rubén Saldaña Acle, the project leader of the awarded design Zen, demonstrates “Zen is a new and fully customizable spotlight, to meet any customers’ technical need and provides, additionally, the aesthetic beauty of an authentic piece of interior design. Zen is one of the smallest spotlights in the market. Thus, ZEN is much better integrated in the environments where it is installed, without generating and invasive presence. This is achieved, also, by being highly customizable with colors, natural woods, etc. The design of Zen is based on timeless forms, oriented towards functionality and simplicity, hunting for a lasting, serene and ostentation free beauty. ZEN is one of the smallest spotlights in the market (1,16Kg y 0,006m3) and is designed to take all lighting applications carried out until now by luminaires with the traditional QR-111 lamp.

In comparison with the last, ZEN is compact, light and significantly smaller. Thus is a spotlight much better integrated in the environments where it is installed, without generating and invasive presence to the interior design of the places where it is located. This is achieved, also, by being highly customizable.

ZEN meets also the requirements of lighting designs needing special light effects offering optional aesthetic filters in colours and technical filters for food lighting. Moreover, ZEN is a sustainable and environmentally friendly product, as it is completely made of aluminium, it has easily separable parts for recycling and it has been design to consist of the least possible number of parts. Furthermore, the aluminium used in ZEN is 100% recyclable by a process consuming just 5% extra energy than it was used to obtain the original primary aluminium. In short, a wide range of customization, crowned by the hallmark of Jokerlight design. In ZEN, this design is based on timeless forms, oriented towards functionality and simplicity, hunting for a lasting, serene and ostentation free beauty.

ZEN LED, farewell to QR-111

The LED version of the new release of Jokerlight achieves an outstanding performance. With a consumption of only 12W to 21,5W, ZEN LED can produce up to 1500 lumens. This means a production of 310 lumens more than traditional 100W QR-111 lamps, with 8 times lower consumption and a lumens-watt ratio several times higher. And all that with high fidelity chromatic reproduction (CRI>80). In addition, ZEN LED –offered in colour temperatures of 3000ºK and 4000ºK– has an alternatives 500mA and 640mA systems uplifting lumen output up to 1950 or 2650 lumens with a consumption of just 18W or 21,5W. In both cases, the performance presented by ZEN far exceeds in all extents that of any QR-111 lamp, which have been totally beaten by this new Jokerlight luminaire. The excellent performance of ZEN LED derives, in large part, from the unique design of the new ZEN heat sink, achieving to cool the LED and keeping it within is optimum working range of temperature.

This signifies the guarantee of the lifespan of the LED along with its highest durability. A guarantee thanks to which the long term efficiency an initial investment in LED means in sense of profitability, ecology and sustainability, is conserved and assured. Moreover, the design of ZEN LED also gives the spotlight an almost total mobility –325º in swivelling and 270º in tilting– allowing this new track light of Jokerlight to throw its light beam in virtually all directions from the point of installation.
